Silica Gel Packs:

Silica gel packets, normally observed in packaging for electronics and purchaser goods, are very useful desiccants that can absorb moisture rapidly in an effective way. Only trained Technicians can provide the best service in case of water intrusion into mobiles. And can take excellent measures to repair the cellphone to working condition.

However, when it comes to Apple, the manufacturer of iPhones, it does not support rice in drying out moist mobiles or specifically iPhones. Instead, Apple recommend their customers to follow some specific steps to address water damages to their iPhones:

Power Off the Phones:

Instantaneously turn off the mobiles if it comes into contact with water to stop short circuits and any other additional damage.

Indeed rice are famous for DIY (Do It Yourself) answer to dry out wet phones, which include iPhones and other brand phones as well. However, there is no evidence to support that it is a wonderful method. Although it is also found that the usage of rice can potentially cause harm than good, as rice grains might also leave residue and dirt particles on mobiles. Therefore, it is better to follow recommended steps from authentic sources to recover mobile from moisture in a professional way. In some cases rice may offer some constrained moisture-absorbing properties, but still it is not the best or dependable method for drying out a moist phone.
